Today we shall discuss about place value. What do you understand by place value?. In decimal number system, a  value of a digits depends on its place or position in the number. Every place contains a value which is ten times to the right of its place. Usually in standard form a number is separated into three digit groups using commas, and each group is known as a period. In the decimal number system, the value of a digit depends on its place, or position, in the number. Each place has a value of 10 times the place to its right.Usually a number in standard form is separated into groups of three digits with commas.  these groups in each  is called a period.
